Fontefico is an organic boutique winery overlooking the Gulf of Vasto, on the southernmost stretch of the Abruzzo Trabocchi's Coast. Our 35 hectares of vineyards are planted exclusively with indigenous Italian grapes—Pecorino, Trebbiano, and Montepulciano—that thrive in this unique terroir.

Here, the fresh, salty winds of the Adriatic Sea shape wines that are naturally mineral, savory, and built to age with elegance.

Fontefico is a true family estate, run by siblings Nicola, Emanuele, and Valeria Altieri. For more than twenty years, we have pursued uncompromising quality, crafting wines that reflect authenticity rather than passing trends.

Each of our wines comes from a single, specific vineyard with its own character and personality. That identity appears on the label: our Pecorino Superiore is “La Canaglia” (“the rascal”) because the vineyard is rebellious, while our Montepulciano is “La Cocca di Casa” (“the princess of the house”)—the family’s favorite, cherished grape. Every vintage brings a new drawing to the label, telling a fresh anecdote of the year. Collecting the bottles means collecting chapters of Fontefico’s story.

And because we believe wine should remain personal, production is strictly limited: only 50,000 bottles per year, each individually numbered.
